Update on COVID-19 from Dr. Mastrorocco

Note: The following precautions remain in place indefinitely.

Dear patients and friends,

We hope this note finds you and your family in good health! We have missed you! We are so happy to let you know that ROC Dental Group is resuming routine dental care on Monday, May 11.

Our practice has always followed stringent state and federal infection control guidelines. We are taking extra steps well beyond these recommendations to protect you and our team. Following are just some of the changes you will notice throughout your next visit.

When You Arrive

  • To eliminate waiting room time, we ask that you stay in your car and we will call you when it is time to meet us at the front door. The American Dental Association is recommending that visitors, such as your spouse, not enter the office.
  • We ask that you wear a cloth mask before meeting us at the door. (We will also be wearing masks at all times.) A team member will greet you and take your temperature.

During Dental Procedures

  • You will be escorted to your disinfected treatment room where you will sanitize or wash your hands.
  • We are wearing more protective gear than ever, like plastic face shields and N95 masks.
  • We have invested in special surgical air purification units that exceed the guidelines for general surgery environments. The units filter and sterilize the air, removing all infectious airborne particles including viruses.
  • Dental hygienists are using new high-volume suction devices that continually collect the aerosols generated from their hygiene instruments.
  • We will disinfect every touchpoint upon your departure.

We have extended the length of your visit and staggered appointments to give ourselves extra time to conduct our revised protocol for sterilization and address any new questions or concerns.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we are taking to keep everyone safe at our practice. To make an appointment, please call the office at 843-682-4601 or email us. We are working extended hours through June 19 to meet the needs of our patients that had to delay their dental care. We continue to offer virtual consultations if you prefer.

Thank you for being our patient! We value your trust and look forward to welcoming you back!

Respectfully,

Dr. Matt Mastrorocco and the Entire ROC Dental Group Team
